Description

The purpose of this session is to present the network of Mayors for Peace, created in 1982 by Hiroshima and Nagasaki, with the aim of promoting international demand for a world at peace and free of nuclear weapons.
Currently the Network, recognized as an NGO with consultative status by the United Nations, is formed by more than 7,000 cities around the world, which has enabled the concept of peace to go beyond the dimension of the disappearance of Nuclear Weapons.
