Description

Every two years, cities and regions are invited to participate in the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation, and this year the number of applications has reached a new high with over 400 initiatives from more than 200 cities from all corners of the world. As urban areas continue to grow, cities around the world face new challenges, from improving their infrastructure to dealing with population growth and climate change. These challenges need to be tackled with innovative approaches to allow us to adapt and to prosper.  Learning from each other provides one of the best ways to inspire each other to adopt and adapt new policies, strategies, business models and partnerships to improve the quality of life and resiliency of our communities.  This workshop draws on the experience of panelists that are involved in urban innovation and will present and discuss what makes urban innovation successful.
