Christophe CHAILLOU is General Director of the French section of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (AFCCRE).

Christophe CHAILLOU, 51 years old, is graduated in public law and management of local authorities (University of Orléans) and has a master in regional development (Caen Business School). He has been junior researcher in the DATAR (French Administration for Regional Planning and development) and joined the European organization, CEMR, in 1992.

He has worked closely, as director of cabinet, with former Secretaries General Elisabeth Gateau and Jeremy Smith. He joined the French section of CEMR, as General Director, in January 2008.

Christophe CHAILLOU is furthermore a local elected representative, as mayor since 1998 of the city of Saint Jean de la Ruelle (17000 inhabitants) and member of the Conseil departemental du Loiret.
