The Bogota Summit of Local & Regional Leaders is potentially the most important gathering of the urban community in preparation for Habitat III. It brings together leaders who can actually implement the major global commitments of 2015 - the urban SDGs, the Paris Climate agreement and fiscally enabling local governments initiated at Addis Ababa. How else can we provide jobs to 600 million young people; housing and basic services to 2 billion slum residents; universal health and education services to 5 billion urban dwellers by 2030; and risk and climate mitigation to the entire planet?
