Joonho Ko, Ph.D., is a research fellow in the Department of Transportation Systems Research of the Seoul Institute (SI), the think tank of Seoul Metropolitan Government, South Korea. In the institute, he is actively conducting various transportation studies, including public transportation, alternative modes of travel and congestion mitigation strategies. Recently, he successfully completed a transportation master plan, called “Seoul Transport Vision 2030” as a project team leader. He was the former director of Megacity Research Center (MRC) in the SI, leading collaborations with other cities abroad to share Seoul’s urban development experience. He has served on various committees charged with the assessment of traffic and environmental impacts from transportation projects. He earned his Ph.D. in transportation systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
